whitson was proud to be part of the final day of
PHDwin Week 2025, where our own Venkata Bala Kri "
Teja" Chavali joined
Jonathan Smith, Director of Sales at TRC Consultants for a session highlighting the value of integrated workflows for modern reserves and production forecasting.
As an official member of the
PHDwin Developer Program, whitson is collaborating closely with PHDWin’s team to ensure seamless connectivity between
PHDwin and
whitson+. This integration allows engineers to:
- High-quality forecasts powered by PVT and rate-transient analysis in whitson+, exported directly into PHDwin for reserves classification
- Sharper type well calibration through physics-based forecasting in whitson+, with results seamlessly transferred into PHDwin
- Maintain a single source of truth for fluid characterization, RTA, and DCA inputs by sharing integration pipelines—reducing manual data handling and uncertainty
- Streamline workflows between engineering analysis and reserves evaluation, saving time while improving technical consistency across teams.
Teja’s presentation focused on how
whitson+ supports
EOS modeling, RTA, and DCA workflows that tie directly into economic models built in PHDwin. The discussion emphasized that data continuity between analysis and reserves booking is more than a convenience—it’s critical for decision-making and regulatory compliance.
Being part of the PHDwin Developer Program alongside other leading software partners like Spotfire and TIBCO reflects whitson’s commitment to open, connected engineering ecosystems.
“When engineers can trust that their PVT, RTA, and DCA results flow directly into reserves evaluation without rework, they spend more time engineering and less time copy-pasting." said Teja "That’s exactly what this integration delivers.”
With collaborations like this, whitson continues to push for technically rigorous, fully integrated workflows that make production and reserves evaluation faster, more reliable, and more repeatable.
